Jeremy Shaw observed today that "Haskell is moving up in the world." His evidence was that a Google search for "haddock" now puts the Haskell documentation tool third on the list.
I guess we'll know that Haskell is a complete and total success when we overhear some kid in a supermarket asking, "Haddock is a fish?"

Wow, I assumed that this might be because you were signed into Google and that boosted haddock as you often do Haskell searches. But I just signed out and haddock was second on the list, behind wikipedia!
Hey Cliff,
How's it going? Have you checked out Scala? It's not "pure" fp, but it's statically typed with many fp concepts (Martin Odersky) and it runs on the JVM. There is a lot of rumbling going on about this becoming the basis of "java3". It's worth checking out.
Also, this is a very interesting interview: http://www.se-radio.net/podcast/2008-05/episode-97-interview-anders-hejlsberg (Anders Hejlsberg, Chief language strategist at Microsoft).
